La Rivoltina: an artistic project and independent ethical fashion
La Rivoltina is an artistic project and a form of independent ethical fashion born in Rome in 2025. The garments—especially handmade underwear and corsets—are created in limited quantities, entirely by the hands of a single person (mine).
Slow production makes it possible to respect the rhythms of life and work, rejecting the logic of mass production and bringing creative freedom back to the center—the kind of freedom one would have if it were possible to return to childhood.
The project originates from anger and a need for redemption in the face of an unjust society, founded on the exploitation of living beings and mass production, and transforms into a creative act made of love, kindness, and beauty.
At the foundation of the project lies an idea of free and instinctive art: non-academic, imperfect, infantile, raw, and authentic. A visual and material language that does not seek to smooth out its edges or conform to preconceptions, but instead makes space for the sincere expression of emotions.
Artistic research, creative freedom, and experimentation
La Rivoltina is a continuously evolving artistic research, guided by play, experimentation, and creative freedom. The goal is to imagine and tell a soft, welcoming world in which everything is possible. Shapes, colors, and symbols are constantly reworked and subverted to take on new meanings, creating an intimate, poetic, and at the same time radical imaginary.
Natural fabrics, deadstock materials, and the centrality of the body
At the heart of the project is the body, understood as a sensitive, political, and poetic space. Mainly deadstock linen and cotton fabrics are used—natural fibers chosen for their ability to caress the skin and accompany those who wear them.
La Rivoltina believes in the harmonious vibration of natural fibers and in their gentle strength: materials that do not constrain, but support, protect, and enter into dialogue with the body.
