Between hidden archives, vintage pieces and forests: fashion acc

A journey through textile archives, vintage and circular fashion. For Rome Fashion Week, RUFA opens its spaces for an event that brings together heritage, creativity and sustainability, culminating in the charity market “Fashion for Forests”.

On the occasion of Rome Fashion Week, RUFA opens the doors of its Via Giuseppe Libetta campus for a unique event celebrating textiles in all their forms: from archival preservation to circular fashion.

This is not just an exhibition, but an interactive experience where historical heritage meets the environmental commitment of our students.

1. An exclusive preview: the Franco Annoni Textile Archive

We are proud to present a teaser of the precious Franco Annoni Textile Archive, recently included in the prestigious publication “Trame. Il tessuto italiano dei musei e degli archivi di moda.”

While awaiting the official completion of the project, the RUFA Library will host a preview of the archive: some of its most iconic folders will be available for consultation, together with an advance copy of the TRAME volume.
It is a rare opportunity to experience first-hand the history of Italian textile manufacturing and discover the tactile heart of our academy.

2. Vintage Archive G20: over 200 garments to discover

The journey continues in classroom G20, which for the occasion will unveil our new collection of over 200 vintage garments.
This archive is not just a collection of clothes, but a living educational resource designed to inspire new generations of designers through the study of cuts, materials and structures that shaped the fashion of the last century.

3. Fashion for Forests: Solidarity Swap Party

The beating heart of the event will be our special Solidarity Swap Party, organised in collaboration with Fondazione Sylva, a partner actively engaged in the reforestation of the Salento area.

The initiative works as an innovative “solidarity swap party.”

What you’ll find:
A carefully curated selection of garments from our vintage stock, together with original creations made available by our students.

How to participate:
The garments will not have a fixed price; they can be chosen in exchange for a free donation made directly to Fondazione Sylva.

Styling tips:
Throughout the event, a team of RUFA student stylists will be available to visitors, offering advice on how to reinterpret the selected garments, combining contemporary style with the philosophy of reuse.

“Take a dress, fund a forest”: a tangible gesture to support the environment through the culture of fashion.
