An event celebrating the intersection of fashion, photography, and dance, where creativity and culture come to life through performances and free shooting. Partners: Dance Studio Le Ali di Iside, camera sales and service Camera Service in Roma
For its second year participating in FASHION PATH, the SPAZIO GEM studio presents FASHION DANCES, an event combining fashion and two widely practiced dance styles.
BOLLYWOOD (Bombay/Hollywood), a wild style that emerged in the early 1970s, encompassing both Indian tradition and innovation, popularized through films and musicals, conveying shocking colors to the rousing sound of traditional music influenced by pop, folk, disco, funk, and more.
FCBD STYLE (Fat Chance Belly Dance Style), a modern ethnic dance style, known since the 1980s as ATS (American Tribal Style), from which it is directly derived. It is a set of codified steps and movements borrowed from other styles, including belly dance, flamenco, Indian, and Oriental dance, based on improvisation. Specific techniques and postures are used to compose the choreographies, which are never pre-arranged and are freely performed in groups or individually, accompanied by various genres of music or, often, just the ringing sound of cymbals, the small brass cymbals played by the dancers themselves.
Instructors of both styles will illustrate the specifics of the styles and costumes, briefly explaining their origins, the fabrics used, and their production methods.
The dancers, wearing their colorful stage costumes, will be available for photographers for studio shoots.
The event is organized in collaboration with the "Le Ali di Iside" dance school in Rome. In attendance will be instructor and founder Maria Teresa Habara, instructors Ambili Abraham, Effe Sheshembens, and Carla Turriziani, who will perform with several of the school's dancers.
