FUORI SAGOMA: Un cartamodello da risolvere. | Friday 16 May | 18:00-20:00 @ Rome Fashion Path
OFF TEMPLATE: A pattern to be solved.

In the lab-window of Spazio Chirale, F. M. Quintavalle creates a cap from urban plastics. A laser-cut template guides engraving and composition. The piece is sewn live. When every gesture is visible, the process becomes the exhibition.

On the occasion of (During) Rome Fashion Path, Chirale activates its lab-window with a new performative and design-driven action: the creation of a visor cap, designed by Francesco Maria Quintavalle and built from regenerated urban plastic waste.

The material, treated and stabilized in the lab, will be engraved using a laser-cut PMMA template. The entire process — from tracing to trimming to stitching — takes place in the window of Spazio Chirale, a space where the audience does not see the finished product, but the becoming of the artifact. A radically transparent approach to design, where technical gestures and material reflection are integral parts of the work.
