From Egypt to Rome

The Rome Fashion Path shines brightly with a dress inspired by the Egyptian sun deity, a part of the "Reviving Heritage & Empowering Women" initiative by L’OBELISCO.

The Italian capital shines brightly with the inauguration of Rome Fashion Path, an event graced by the most illustrious names in the fashion world. At the center of attention was Salma Eltoukhy, Miss Egypt, who captivated the admiration of all attendees.

The highlight of the evening was the runway showcasing a masterpiece created by the talented Indian designer Spoorthi Rao. This masterpiece draws inspiration from the Egyptian sun deity, Ra, symbolizing both life and power. The luminous yellow silk of the dress reflects the glorious sunlight, while the flowing skirt, resembling sunbeams, evokes the intense heat and strength that the sun represents. Lotus flowers, sacred in ancient Egypt, adorn the shoulders of the dress, imparting an aura of majesty and rebirth.

Salma Eltoukhy, wearing this unique dress, perfectly embodied the duality of the sun god, exhibiting both the vital warmth and scorching power it represents. Her presence demonstrated how fashion can be an effective vehicle for cultural narratives, symbolically bridging East and West.

The event is part of the "Reviving Heritage & Empowering Women" initiative launched by L’OBELISCO, aimed at showcasing international designers and celebrating the richness of cultural heritage through fashion. This initiative seeks to build cultural bridges, support female talent, and celebrate our shared history in a globalized fabric, where each thread tells a story of resilience, beauty, and human strength.
