I’m Maicol Ierardi, born in 1997: born in Avezzano, raised in Calabria, carrying a suitcase full of contrasts and ideas that never stay still.
Today I live suspended between two very distinct worlds: styling and design. Two different approaches, two ways of thinking, two personalities coexisting—more or less peacefully. On one side, there’s the stylist: the one who builds images, tells stories through garments, and finds balance even in chaos. On the other, the designer: the one who creates that chaos from scratch—sketching, pattern-making, cutting, sewing, and constantly questioning everything.
In between? A slightly unexpected background: classical high school and a brief detour into criminology in Chieti. Let’s just say analyzing crimes and translating Latin didn’t exactly scream “future in fashion”… but maybe they simply trained me to decode complex structures—whether mental or sartorial.
The real turning point came during the COVID period, when creativity took over and pushed me to fully commit to fashion. That’s when I began my studies in Fashion Design at UED in Pescara, where everything started to take shape.
In 2023, I stepped concretely into the world of styling through a course with a professor from Marangoni Paris—and that’s when something clicked, a sort of (strictly professional) love at first sight. Shortly after, I began working first as an assistant stylist and then as a stylist, alongside another creative, with designer Stella Jean until the end of 2024. An experience that allowed me to build a strong and conscious visual language, fully stepping into the rhythm and grammar of the industry.
Throughout my journey, I’ve worked with brands such as Migale Couture, Anima Studios, Simon Cracker, and Taormina Eyewear, and collaborated on editorials with both emerging and established designers including DEZ Brand, SAB.CORE, Enomia Brand, C’est Rebecca, Mupaji Bijoux, Wunderkammer Jewels, Orha Brand, Elins Moda, D’Alba, Francesco Martino, Andrea Principia, and Beatrice Vicoli.
At the same time, my work has been published in magazines such as Falcon, Sainteight, Off Town, Rovescio Magazine, Selin, 17.23, Goji, and Out and Out.
But while the stylist builds images, the designer feels the need to build the garments themselves.
That’s how SUIGENDERIS was born—my brand. Here, I oversee the entire creative process: from the initial idea to the final piece. Every garment is designed and handmade by me, in a continuous dialogue between aesthetics and technique.
SUIGENDERIS is an a-gender project, created with the aim of overcoming traditional divisions in fashion. Designing garments that can adapt to different bodies is a real challenge—one that requires research, experimentation, and a completely new way of thinking about construction and proportions.
Meanwhile, as if two personalities weren’t enough, I also collaborate with various fashion organizations and have been a member for five years of Arcadia Exhibition, a Calabrian organization with which we produce fashion events. Let’s say that, when in doubt, I also organize the chaos… in addition to creating and dressing it.
And while my two identities keep arguing over which path is the right one, I keep doing both. Because, in the end, that’s exactly where everything happens.
